Most grading calls start with water — a soggy spot that never dries out, runoff heading toward a foundation, or a yard that washes out every time it rains hard. We reshape the ground so water goes where it should.
We also grade for new lawns, driveways, sheds, and building pads. We'll walk the property with you before anything starts so there are no surprises.
That walk is the important part. Water problems are rarely where they look like they are — the wet corner is usually the symptom and the cause is somewhere uphill of it. Standing in the yard and following where the water actually runs tells us more than any measurement does, and it's how we work out whether the fix is a small reshape or something bigger.
What the work takes depends on the ground itself: how much of it there is, how much dirt has to move and how far, whether the machine can get to it without going through anything it shouldn't, and whether soil has to be brought in or hauled off. A flat back yard with a gate wide enough to drive through is a different job from a tight side yard on a slope, even if they're the same size.
If you're grading to build on — a shed, a garage pad, a driveway — say so early. Ground you're going to put weight on gets prepared differently than ground you're going to plant grass on, and it's easier to do it right the first time than to come back and redo it.
